Who are your typical clients?
All kinds! Seriously. Many are just like you. But if I were to try to be more specific, they are women that are doing it more for themselves than as a gift for others. Some love the idea of getting dolled up and taking romantic images. Some want images that show more skin and are proud of their bodies, and some want to see just how great their bodies CAN look. They come from all walks of life. They typically like black and white images as much or more than color photography. Some are looking to document how good they look now at this stage of their life, and some want to see themselves through my eyes. Some need a reminder that they are powerfully sexual beings, and don't often get to show it. Definitely, I can say that ALL of them have a great time and are thrilled with their photos!
“I'm blown away. I never really loved photos of myself but I love these. I can't thank you enough.” Justice Skye Blood, Los Angeles, CA
How long is a session?
A typical session is 2-3 hours. We always allow for 3 to be safe. Since we never rush a session, it takes what it takes, and that's fine with us!
How many outfits should I prepare?
We generally suggest 3-5 outfits, and some incidental extra pieces. Different bras and panties, G-strings, etc. Most baby dolls and teddies are too cutesy for this type of image. If you're wearing garters, don't forget the stockings too. Perhaps an extra set as well, just in case. High heels are important for these sessions. The higher and sexier the better! Have a selection!
Do you photograph nudes?
Yes, and No. Implied nudity is common, and sometimes you’ll be gently urged out of your comfort zone- but you’ll never be uncomfortable, and it will never be or feel ‘dirty’ or crude. That's not our style. You call the shots. But as you can see from my samples, there are occasional "implied" shots that suggest it, but doesn't necessarily show it. But hey- that's up to you!
"I love the full nude with hair across back btw-- that style is my favorite of yours. I'd love to do this style again. You're my absolute favorite, ESPECIALLY for stuff like this. You create such beautiful images-- a master of light! I'm 100% happy with the photos you did for me. They're fantastic." Rachel Agosto, West Hollywood, CA
Do you photograph couples?
I do not prefer photographing couples. Often, it's already plenty of work to make one person look amazing. Bring a second into the mix, and well, it makes it much more difficult to get great images. Especially, where little clothing is concerned. Also, the vibe of the session completely changes.
Do you photograph actual intimacy?
Nope! As much as I do like a little voyeuristic FEEL to the images, we do not photograph any actual intimacy at all. The expression and poses sell the sexuality.
Can I bring a friend (husband, partner)?
This is one of those things... Honestly, 9 times out of 10, the person that you might bring for moral support ends up being a distraction. You look to them for validation on the poses, expressions, outfits, etc. But they are not looking through the lens. They do not see what I see, or understand what I'm looking for in that particular pose. If your attention is on your moral support, you're not committed to the moment. Now on the subject of having your spouse present. I'm not going to say no, but you can get very self-conscious about looking sexy in front of another man with your spouse there. Plus, they often want to direct the shoot. If that's what he's looking for, you can roleplay at home for free! I truly do not recommend your spouse being there. This session is for YOU! Just my 2 cents.
Do you do other types of photography?
We did, years ago. I photographed babies and children, families and even weddings. I even did some of that cute Pin-up photography. Today, it’s difficult to refer to our work as “cute”. It's just not our thing. Over the years, I streamlined my business to do the thing I'm best at. Boudoir Photography - Putting women at ease and helping them relax so that they can get truly HOT images of themselves. The boudoir photos we create for you will scream mystery, intimacy, voyeurism, and even dangerous. Those are adjectives often used to describe the type of images we make. We know you want these photos to be beautiful, but it should go beyond cute and pretty pictures. You should think and feel heat and ‘intimacy’ when you see them. A little tingle of excitement! The viewer should always think sex when they see these images.
Where is my session photographed?
As I mentioned on my Why Boudoir/Your Artists page, I no longer shoot in a studio. It became way to monotonous and dull, and it said nothing about our clients other than pretty photos. My photos started to look the same. Only the face changed. All the sets and props were the same in every shoot. The photos were all good and the clients were happy. But, I feel the personal, individual touch was not there. My goal is to create every session from scratch. Using the client's outfits, shoes and yes, even their homes or a location that is different from each of my previous sessions. This way YOUR images are always unique!
How do I book you?
Contact us! You can probably tell by now that we're not for everyone, and we don't want to be. We limit the number of clients we take. Let's face it- you and I both want to know that we are a good fit for one another. If so, you're in for a wonderful experience, and the sexiest photographs you've ever seen of yourself! Give us a shout and see if we're the right folks for the job.
